Wednesday July 8, 2009: Movies, My Secret, and Poetry

Song On Repeat: "Switch" by Will Smith
Mood: Entertained

So today, I'm going to go see Up. Because Cynthia told me how wonderful it was after she saw it last night, so I'm going to see it with my friend Molly (we think). She's from my basketball team, and she entertains the heck out of me. Anyways, so the only thing is that we're so crazy, The Mother is joking that we're going to get kicked out of the theater.
We shall see.

So anyways, I think the time is right for you to know one of my biggest secrets. And this may possibly cause you to stop reading my blog.
Brace yourself.
A tv show that I've recently discovered, and actually [sadly] really like, is.....The Golden Girls.
Forgive me for being so entertained by this show, but I actually really like it!
I want to slap myself every time I laugh, but I can't help it!
This probably changes your opinion about me lol. But hey, it's just me.
It's one of my biggest secrets, so shhhhhhh, don't tell! ;-)

Finally (I've been dying to post this), I figure it's about time you all got to read some more poems by me, so check out these two that I wrote last night.

This first one is just some thoughts running through my mind, after I read this post by JenBun last night.

"Apart"
Sometimes, I think we'd be better
Apart.
But then, I try to imagine life without you,
And can't.

Something in me says to keep trying,
And to not give up,
Because maybe, in some way or another,
We're meant to be together,
Maybe just as friends,
Or maybe as more.

There's a magnetism between us.
Could either stand being away from the other?
Apart.
Is it possible?

I would miss you, sure,
But would we be better off that way?
Life would probably simpler,
And there wouldn't be anything hanging over us.

We've done it before. We survived.
We could do it again, sure. It could last.
We'd have memories, hopes, and thoughts,
But not each other.
Apart.

In short, it,
Apart,
Doesn't seem like it would work.

And this one is one of my favorites, and one of, I think, the best ones I've ever written. I was on the computer last night, and was looking at the pictures from Camp, and spent more time looking at one picture. I won't tell you which one, you can figure it out for yourself. But it is from Camp, and I did put it up here recently. Anyways, I looked closer at the picture, to see more into something I'd already noticed, and this poem just pretty much explains what I saw. Let me know what you think, especially of this one, because I love it so much.

"The Smile He Fakes"
Behind the smile he fakes,
There's something more.
You wouldn't notice
If you didn't look.

His eyes don't match his upturned mouth.
They have no happiness.
There is no joy or lightheartedness there.
Even the faked smile isn't right.

If only someone were there to listen,
If only they were brave enough to try.
If only he would let them in,
Let them listen.

Joking words flow like water,
As he enviously watches the real smiles.
My smiles,
Her smiles,
Everyone's smiles
Except his.

What's hidden there
Inside his mind?
What keeps his smile from reaching his eyes?

He wished he could fly away
From parents,
And from worries,
But he can't.

What's hidden behind the smile he fakes?
Him and I both wish he would, and could tell
Someone.

Yeah, I was exprimenting with stanzas there. After I wrote it and was rereading it, I realized it would bother me if it was all just together, so I wanted to add the stanzas, and they just kinda fit. So let me know what you think of all these, especially that last one!
I'm off to email Cynthia.

Peace, Magic, and Music,

~*Me*~
